SELF-HELP in learning to live with losses - Bereavement, how do you do that?

Life lasts a lifetime...

INTRODUCTION

You have found this blog for a reason!! It was meant to be.

Many people find it difficult to ask for help and therefore keep pushing their loss processing forward. However there is no need to continue to suffer for so long! Talking during this period is important. Tell your story to anyone you trust and who wants to hear it.

Self-help is a good way to clear up a lot of old pain.

There are people who need their whole lives to recover from a blow like this, but it can also become a kind of escape behavior. An excuse to avoid everything and to not engage yourself in certain confrontations. You're only half alive then.

Some of the advice covered here may be right up your alley, others may not. Please be kind to yourself and use the resources that you are attracted to, and leave the rest for what it is.

The death of a loved one puts everything into perspective. You'll see the world with new eyes.

Grab a notebook (notepad) or buy one for your notes and to be able to flip through on a later moment.

What went through your then your dear ...... had deceased?

Grief is the reverse side of love. This is how you can grieve when you lose someone you love through death or through alcohol, drugs. You also grieve when you notice that you are losing your partner by divorce, (also by dementia), your ideals, your work, your health or your expectations for the future. Or when you missed the security in your family as a child. All those who have had to deal with incest, being a victim or a perpetrator. Or if your son or daughter has ended up in prison, or if you or a loved one is disabled.

Also when you are a war victim (1st or 2nd generation), you can deal with a lot of grief and other feelings through loss processing.

Disbelief, anger, sadness, fear and worry all play a role in this.

Grieving is a part of our lives. Without grieving, we cannot re-attach. Every person grieves in her/his own way. But it is precisely in this respect that people need each other, so that they feel supported and respected and can share feelings with each other in that way.

In about 5 chapters, personal bereavement is supported and substantiated with short, clear theory.

Set yourself goals:

1. How would you like to get out of here?.......

2. What are you willing to do?.......

3. How far along are you in your processing (0 – 10)?.......

4. What have you done so far in terms of processing since your loss?.......

5. How do you look at death and being alone; do you have a certain philosophy of life?.......

6. Do you have physical complaints? If so, do you take medication?.......

Antidepressants usually make the process longer, but they do get you through the initial shock. What you can't or don't want to see today, will stay until tomorrow. A relaxant can temporarily be of great service.

There is a connection between negative feelings and unreasonable thoughts.

7. Have you ever thought about taking your own life?.......

(Seek help from your doctor, you don't have to be       ashamed when you feel powerless).

Actually this is about raising awareness, what you can do yourself to get through a difficult period with SELF help.

By becoming aware and working on your Self, you learn to get control over your emotions.

Additional support

Reiki: You can seek additional help through spiritual healing treatment. (restoring your connection to the cosmos through the laying on of hands)

Massage: Stored emotions in your body can also be released by having several massages.

Meditations (which you can do regularly)

1. Visualize a white Rose as a symbol of unconditional love in your heart.... Take a moment with your eyes closed to visualize it. You don't have to see her. The intention is sufficient. Send this gentle energy to pain spots, places in your body that could use an extra helping hand.

And radiate this Rose to your deceased loved one.

2. Visualize the golden Sun in and around you. And let the sunlight flow through you, through your feet deep into the earth. Close your eyes to concentrate on this. Take a moment to build up this energy. This restores the connection between you, the cosmos and mother earth. You are that connection. (Like a battery, you literally charge yourself with solar energy, which reduces your fatigue and eventually disappears)

Send light to those parts of your body that could use some extra attention. But which, because your thoughts were elsewhere, have been somewhat neglected. We are beings of light. When we feel good about ourselves, we shine. You can work towards that feeling and glowing again. Just treat yourself to it.

You have made up for your shortcomings of Love and Light. And with that, you are now empowering

Yourself!

Through your love and light, you remain forever connected to the one who has gone back to the world of light and love in the universe.
